Binary Audio Misfits
Thur. 18th @ Club 115, 8:00 p.m.
Fri. 19th @ Wave Rooftop, 1:00 a.m.

BINARY AUDIO MISFITS is the fruit of a musical meeting on MySpace between  two highly original genres from different worlds. In Fall 2007, after discovering them on myspace, the French rock group Expérience invited the Texan rap collective The Word Association to sing on one of their tracks. The result was so exciting that they decided to continue the collaboration with the recording of  Expérience's fourth album at Steve Albini's Electrical Studio, Chicago in 2007.  Over the year, they continue to write songs over the internet and were invited for a residency and a gig in 2009 at the french venue La Cartonnerie, in Reims (France).

Since late 2006, Mark and Morgan have been on tour with over 200 concerts to their credit. Cocoon have gained a stellar reputation with their wonderful debut album "My friends all died in a plane crash", but also as a live band whose chops have been built on the roads of France and Europe, from smaller clubs to the most prestigious venues. Electric Electric
Wed. 17th with the blog Daybowbow, TBA
Fri. 19th @ 21st Street Co-op, TBA
Sat. 20th @ Victorian Room at the Driskill, 10:00 p.m.

Electric Electric, Formed in 2004, Electric Electric is a hyper-energetic three-piece band who lures us into a spastic frenzy with their entirely new strain of instrumental music, based on a minimalistic, mechanical and apocalyptic rock.  Heavily infuenced by the sounds of the Skingraft label and bands that combine noise-rock and explosive performances on stage, Electric Electric has refined an aesthetic sense of repetition, minimalism, and most of all, dance music.  Some would say their music fits right between Donna Summer and Sunn-O.

Hifiklub & Andrew WK
Fri. 19th @ Lamberts, 8:00 p.m.

Hifiklub is a self-described "open trio": three individuals who share their music with the artists who inspire them; from James Chance to R Stevie Moore, via Alain Johannes or Steven Bernstein. A very "open" trio therefore, and who practice a kind of "DIY." Yes, DIY, like those New York trailblazers who, one fine evening in 1974, stole a stage reserved for Country, Bluegrass, Blues and OMFUG. Now you are starting to catch on.

Yet, the four men/vagabonds who travel between London, Paris, New York and Irkoutsk, keep their feet on the ground. They know the dream might end at once.
